Green Schools Award
We are delighted to announce that we have received our fifth Green Flag for the theme of Biodiversity. We worked hard on this theme which involved learning about plants and animals in the world around us. The Senior Room took part in the Explorers Education programme and did projects on various sea creatures. The Junior Room learned about the Echium plant that grew in our percolation area when we allowed it to go wild. We allowed our percolation area to go wild to attract bees and other pollinators. The Echium was a great attraction for the local bees! We also planted daffodils and tulips there too. We took part in the Woodies Budding Gardeners programme. For this programme we planted Dahlias, lettuce and wildflowers in pots. During the winter we set up birdfeeders to attract birds to our school. For our action day we planted marigolds in pots and completed a beach clean. Here are some photos of all our work.
